Green School Congrats

Adrienne Thieke

Congratulations to Adrienne Thieke, teacher at Abraham Lincoln Middle School, who was named a Trailblazing Teacher by the USGBC's Center for Green Schools. Ms. Thieke was one of only six teachers honored with this award for her creativity in bringing environmental learning to her students. 

Judith Weaver 

Local High Springs teacher Judith Weaver was also named a “Trailblazing Teacher” by the USGBC.  Ms. Weaver was recognized by the Center for Green Schools for coordinating projects that emphasize the importance of water, including an awareness day when students walked around the school’s campus with jugs of water to raise money for drilling wells in Cambodia. USGBC Joins Home Energy Information Accelerator 
The U.S. Department of Energy has announced two new Better Buildings Accelerators, which will convene leading organizations in the building industry to focus on key solutions for expanding energy efficiency in the residential sector.
