Emerging Professionals Committee Chair
Dana Falstad

Dana Falstad graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelors in Architecture in 2009 and has been a LEED-AP since 2008.  Dana is the Sustainability Manager at Gator Dining Services/ARAMARK at the University of Florida, as well as the South Region Sustainability Steward for ARAMARK.  Dana is the liaison between the University Office of Sustainability and the ARAMARK team at the University of Florida.  She creates and drives waste reduction, energy and water conservation and education and outreach initiatives surrounding the dining services sustainability at the University of Florida.

Prior to working with ARAMARK, Dana was a Project Assistant in the Environmental Due Diligence Assessment Group at GaiaTech.  Prior to working with GaiaTech, she was the Director of Environmental Strategy at GreenWorld/SkySite Property, LLC.  Dana held an internship at Perkins +Will the summer of 2008.  While attending the University of Michigan, Dana was the project manager for the Student Sustainability Initiative, which was a part of the Graham Environmental Sustainability Institute at the University of Michigan.  Dana, along with her co-workers, was charged with the task of driving the advancement of sustainability within the University by being the liaison between the students and administration of the University and successfully lobbied the President and Board of Regents to establish an Office of Sustainability and adopt stronger green building standards (LEED Silver standard for all future building projects).

The Heart of Florida Chapter’s Emerging Professionals Committee focuses on the professional development of students and young professionals who express an interest in the rapidly growing green building industry.

Our mission is to continue to lead the way for future generations in the green building industry; it is the intent of our committee to support diverse educational opportunities and dynamic training scenarios for the young professionals and students in North Central Florida.

We work with emerging green builders, educational institutions, and the green building industry to enhance communication, education and networking opportunities for emerging green professionals.
